Simile: The trees swayed like a ballerina's skirt in a soft concert 4/23/17
Over the moon or blue Underneath my heart he is there
Morning weight hung in their limbs making them break the strong hold of arms and sheets slowly. With eyes sewn shut by eyelashes and dirt he turned away from the light, from his love. She untangled the love and sleep knots from her hair and slid on her clothes from yesterday, waiting for him to miss her from 2 feet away. But when he begs for her, for five more minutes to forever, she leaves. Another poem to look at for example is "Aubade" by Philip Larkin
The curfew tolls the knell of parting day, The lowing herd winds slowly o'er the lea, The ploughman homeward plods his weary way, And leaves the world to darkness and to me. -Thomas Gray 1/10/17

"He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep." The poem sections or stanzas that are separated to change and/or emphasize the poets message, thought, or story. |
